Mendocino HOA Calendar of Events

Regular Monthly Meetings of the Board
The Board generally meets at 8:00 a.m. to conduct the on-going business of the Association, to determine the agenda for future meetings, and to determine priorities for various Association projects. You are invited to observe this portion of the meeting, but you are not allowed to participate (see Note 2). This meeting could adjourn to a "closed-door"  Executive Session if necessary (see Note 3). At 10:00 a.m., the Board opens the floor to all members for review of the earlier meeting and to allow members to participate. The meeting dates for this calendar year are expected to be as follows. Always check the Grapevine newsletter for the latest information. Agendas for each meeting are posted in the HOA Office window at least four days in advance of the meeting.

Monthly Architectural Inspection
In general, the monthly architectural inspections are conducted "around" the 15th of the month. However, these dates are subject to change without notice to accommodate the people conducting the inspections.

Monthly Street Sweeping by City of Chula Vista
The City of Chula Vista sweeps Mendocino Drive on the Third Wednesday of every Month sometime between Noon and 3:00 p.m. If you are parked on Mendocino Drive during this day/time, the City of Chula Vista may ticket your vehicle. Be aware that this is a "city" function, not an Association function.


  1. Meeting Location. Unless noted, all meetings are held in the Association Office at 1580 Mendocino Drive, Chula Vista, California.
  2. Special Board Meetings. These meetings are usually held once each month on the Saturday before the Regular Monthly Meeting, but may change unannounced from the dates shown above to accommodate the personal schedules of Board members. The agenda of these meetings can change frequently, but usually deals with on-going business matters that need planning or timely resolution. Members are allowed to attend these meetings, however, your participation may be restricted by time constraints and/or until all Board business has been concluded. These meetings may be cancelled without notice if no business needs to be conducted by the Board. Additionally, these meetings can become Executive Sessions when necessary to handle those matters described below in Note 3.
  3. Executive Sessions. On an infrequent basis, the Board may need to conduct a closed-door meeting for matters pertaining to third-party contracts, litigation, member discipline, or other personal/business matters of a similar nature. We hope to keep these closed-door sessions to a minimum. Minutes from Executive Sessions are not available to Association Members; however, when information must be kept confidential, the context and reasons for confidentiality will be given to any member who requests that information.
